Meet Rachel: Expert in Conductive Education

Meet Rachel

The face behind Conductive Education with Rachel

For over 15 years I've had the privilege of supporting babies, children, young people and adults with additional needs through Conductive Education and early intervention.

Watching someone achieve something they once found difficult – no matter how big or small – is what inspires me every day.

That's why I love providing Conductive Education, Portage-inspired early intervention and movement support for children and adults across Durham and the North East.

One of my favourite parts of my work is building relationships with the children, adults and families I support. I love discovering what makes someone smile, what motivates them and celebrating every achievement alongside them. Whether that's taking their first independent steps towards a goal or simply trying something new with confidence, every moment matters.

My Approach

My sessions are designed around each individual's strengths, interests and goals because no two learners are the same.

Through connection and play I support learners to become active participants in their everyday lives through meaningful and engaging learning experiences.

My Experience

Throughout my career I have worked within charities, schools, multidisciplinary therapy teams, private practice and internationally, helping individuals develop movement, communication, confidence and independence.

  • Over 15 years of specialist SEND experience.
  • Qualified BA (Hons) Conductor.
  • Portage trained.
  • Level 4 Makaton trained.
  • Paediatric First Aid trained.
  • Mental Health First Aid trained.
  • DBS checked and fully insured.
  • Experience working internationally and across multidisciplinary therapy teams.
  • Specialist knowledge of movement disorders, motor planning and sensory-informed learning.

I believe every learner has the potential to learn, grow and flourish when they are supported in ways that are meaningful, motivating and personalised to them.
