Conductive Education
Conductive Education (CE) is an educational system, based on the work of Hungarian Professor András Pető, it was specifically developed for people who have neurological motor disorders such as cerebral palsy but has evolved over time to work with a wide range of children.
CE is all about potential and the person as a whole. It uses psychology and education to nurture their development.
CE sessions follow a routine that includes specific tasks and activities in different positions such as lying, sitting, standing and walking to build skills and confidence.

Conductor
It is the name of someone who is qualified in the field of Conductive Education
The Group
In CE the group is an important aspect to support and develop learning.
It helps develop social skills, motivation and learning from others.
The programme/daily routine
It is the carefully planned timetable of tasks and activities to facilitate the child’s learning.
Both are evolving and dynamic to suit the child's needs.
Task series
It is a teaching tool that is a series of movements carried in a variety of positions.
They are small achievable functional movements. The child will learn to intend, to plan and execute a conscious action.
Rhythmical intention
It is specific language, counting and songs to help support each activity for learning
Facilitation
CE uses a variety of facilitation techniques to support learning, including verbal prompts and physical guidance.
Observation
It is a dynamic, ongoing and continual process to further progress learning.
The learning environment
It is supportive and creates motivation to encourage success plus also confidence to transfere skills to different environments.
